Corrosion resistance is one of the most demanding finishing applications. A lot can go wrong that can impact the adhesion and durability of the coating. Corrosion resistance has been a specialty of Advanced Finishing since our inception nearly 45 years ago.

Whether your job requires a functional or aesthetic finish, Advanced Finishing USA specializes in providing durable coatings that add value to your product. Our powder coating and wet painting services provide protection from corrosion, the environment and electric shock. While our proprietary aesthetic and architectural powder coating services can add that snap that makes your end product stand out and demand attention. Lastly, Advanced Finishing is at the forefront in offering anti-microbial finishing for surfaces that are susceptible to the spread of disease in high traffic public and health care settings.

For normal outdoor environmental applications, we apply TGIC Polyester, Urethane, and Kynar, which resist normal wear and tear from sun, wind rain and snow.

For extremely corrosive environments we apply thermoplastic KF Polymer, PVC, Nylon, Teflon®, or Halar®. These long chain polymers resist degradation when exposed to high temperature and chemical environments.

Advanced Finishing U.S.A. strives to use only environmentally friendly materials wherever possible. We take pride in complying with the Great Lakes Initiative. Rely on your Advanced Finishing representative to provide recommendations.

Our commitment to quality products and processes provides assurance that your finished product will adhere to the most stringent standards. We are ISO 9001 compliant. The coatings we use are FDA & DOT approved and meet most AAMA, Military and Automotive specifications. We are a 3M, Cardinal, and Sherwin Williams certified vendor. We regularly participate in continuing educational opportunities that keep us at the leading edge of application techniques and research and development.

The short answer is the thicker the better. The advantage of powder coating is its thickness. Products can be powder coated up to 15 to 20 mills and still attain strong adhesion using standard coatings. Specialized coatings can attain thickness of up to 125 mills. By contrast painting is limited to 2 to 4 mills. Other limitations are dictated by product design and function such as moving parts. In some cases the performance goals of your product can be achieved with a thinner surface but a product that offers a more durable finish. Your Advanced Finishing USA representative can provide recommendations to ensure your performance goals are met.

Advanced Finishing provides consultation and engineering services to guide customer choice of coating options. Our experience across diverse applications will provide the best balance between cost and durability.

The durability of any coating is dependent on the quality of adhesion achieved during application, the type of coating used, the environment and the care taken by the end-user.
